The Beginning

Mark and Anna began their warmblood breeding journey in 2002.

Their very first foal, a filly by Stakkato, went on to produce multiple high-level competitors. Their first colt, Tulara Balouch by Balou de Rouet, marked the beginning of a long and successful partnership with riders Jamie Winning Kermond and Jamie Kermond. Balouch won Jumping with the Stars at Werribee before travelling to Europe, where he competed successfully. Jamie Winning continues that legacy in the United States aboard Tulara WAT Colblensky.

The Vision

To breed exceptional, world-class warmbloods in a natural, performance-building environment.

Each season, top fillies are selected as future broodmares based on type, movement and free jumping ability. These mares then grow and breed in Tulara’s expansive paddocks keeping quality bloodlines firmly rooted on home soil, continually strengthening the program.

Raised by the Land

The Barjarg property plays an integral role in shaping Tulara horses.

Granitic sand footing naturally conditions the horses’ feet, and steep rocky hills help young horses develop durability and athleticism from an early age by building balance, strength and coordination. This rugged environment prepares them for the intense physical demands of showjumping, contributing to the soundness and longevity Tulara horses are known for.

A Global Reputation

By staying true to the powerful combination of elite international genetics and a challenging enriching environment, Tulara Warmbloods has produced horses that compete successfully across Europe, the United States and Australia. A notable example is Tulara Colmine, currently campaigned by Georgina Bloomberg, and Tulara Cascara, currently ridden by Aaron Vale.

Continuing the Legacy

Anna’s passion for breeding horses runs deep. Her father, Peter Baillieu, played a pivotal role in importing Quarter Horses from King Ranch — an early foundation for her lifelong passion for horse breeding. Today, Anna continues to honour and build upon her and Mark’s vision, ensuring that Tulara Warmbloods truly rides on.
